Connect your Shopify store

Connecting Shopify lets you sync customers, orders, and products into the platform so you can build targeted audiences and personalize Editions with store data — for example, welcome new customers, follow up on recent orders, or feature products a subscriber has browsed.

Before you begin

  • Admin access to both this platform and your Shopify store's admin.
  • Permission in Shopify to install apps or generate API credentials.
  • Agreement on which data to sync: customers (subscribers), orders, and product catalog.
  • A plan for how customers who have not opted in to marketing should be handled — only sync marketing-consented contacts unless you have another lawful basis.

Steps

  1. In the platform, open the integrations area and choose to add a new Shopify connection. (confirm the exact steps in your account)
  2. When prompted, sign in to your Shopify store and authorize the connection. If your account uses a private app or API key instead, paste the store domain and credentials Shopify provides.
  3. Choose which objects to sync — customers, orders, and products — and how often (for example, an initial import followed by ongoing updates).
  4. Map Shopify customer fields to subscriber fields so store data lands in the right places for personalization and segmentation.
  5. Save the connection and run an initial sync.

Result

The connection shows as active and your first sync completes. Shopify customers appear as subscribers, and order and product data become available for building audiences and personalizing Editions. Confirm by opening a synced subscriber and checking that their Shopify fields are populated.
