Control who can see a Post

A Post can be open to anyone with the link, limited to signed-in subscribers, or targeted to a specific audience. Choose the level of access that matches how sensitive the content is and how you expect subscribers to reach it.

Before you begin

  • You need edit rights on the Post you want to control.
  • Decide the audience: fully public, any signed-in subscriber, or a specific segment or list.
  • If you plan to require sign-in, confirm your account has SSO configured (for example, Microsoft Entra ID). (confirm the exact steps in your account)
  • Have any targeting criteria ready — the segment, list, or subscriber attributes you'll restrict to.

Steps

  1. Open the Post and go to its visibility or access settings. (confirm the exact steps in your account)
  2. Choose an access level:
    • Public — anyone with the link can open it, no sign-in required.
    • Signed-in only — subscribers must authenticate (via SSO) before the Post loads.
    • Targeted — only subscribers who match your chosen segment, list, or attributes can view it.
  3. For a targeted Post, select the segment or list that defines who is allowed in.
  4. Decide how non-matching or signed-out visitors are handled — for example, a sign-in prompt or an access-denied message.
  5. Save your changes, then preview the Post as a subscriber to confirm the gate behaves as expected.

Result

The Post now enforces the access level you set. Public Posts open for everyone; restricted Posts prompt for sign-in or block subscribers outside the targeted audience.
