Set Up a Branded Link Domain

Use your own domain for tracked link redirects so subscribers see your brand instead of a generic address. When link tracking is on, every clickable link in a Broadcast is rewritten to pass through a redirect host that records the click before forwarding the subscriber to the real destination. A branded link domain replaces that shared host with a subdomain you own — so a hovered or copied link reads links.yourbrand.com rather than an unfamiliar address. This improves trust, reduces spam-filter suspicion, and keeps your brand consistent from inbox to click.

Before you begin

  • Access to your DNS provider (or a colleague who can add records for you).
  • A subdomain to dedicate to redirects, for example links or click under your domain. Do not use your main website hostname.
  • Account permissions to manage tracking or domain settings — if you cannot see these options, ask your account administrator.
  • The exact target hostname or CNAME value to point at — this is provided in your account's domain settings (confirm the exact value in your account).

Steps

  1. Choose the subdomain you want subscribers to see (for example links.yourbrand.com).
  2. In your DNS provider, add a CNAME record for that subdomain pointing to the target host shown in your account's tracking/domain settings (confirm the exact record type and value in your account).
  3. Save the DNS record and allow time for it to propagate — this can take from a few minutes up to several hours.
  4. Return to the domain settings in the platform, enter your branded subdomain, and start verification.
  5. Once verified, set the branded domain as the default for tracked links so new Broadcasts use it automatically.

Result

Verification succeeds and the subdomain shows as active. Send a test Edition to yourself, then hover a tracked link — the visible address now uses your branded subdomain, and the click still redirects correctly and is recorded in reporting.
