Build a multi-step drip sequence

A drip sequence sends a series of Editions to a subscriber over time — for example a welcome series that goes out on day 0, day 3, and day 7. You build the flow once, and each new subscriber who enters moves through the steps automatically. This guide walks through creating that sequence in the drip flow designer.

Before you begin​

  • Have each Edition for the sequence built and ready in a Folder (or plan to create them as you go). (confirm the exact steps in your account)
  • Decide your entry trigger — for example, a new subscriber joining an audience or submitting a signup form.
  • Map out the timing between steps (delays in hours or days) and any conditions that should branch or exit the flow.
  • Confirm the subscribers you want to reach are not on the account suppression list.

Steps​

  1. Open the automation area and create a new drip flow, giving it a clear name.
  2. Set the entry trigger that adds subscribers to the flow (for example, joining a specific audience).
  3. Add the first step and select the Edition to send. This is the message subscribers receive when they enter.
  4. Add a wait/delay step to hold subscribers for the interval you planned (for example, 3 days).
  5. Add the next send step and choose the Edition for it. Repeat delay-then-send for each message in the sequence.
  6. (Optional) Add a condition or exit so subscribers who convert or unsubscribe leave the flow early.
  7. Send yourself a test, then activate the flow so new subscribers begin entering. (confirm the exact steps in your account)

Result​

The flow is live. New subscribers who match the entry trigger start at step one and advance through each delay and send automatically. You can watch entries, sends, and completions on the flow's reporting view, and pause or edit the flow at any time.
