Control drip timing and delays

Timing controls how long a subscriber waits between one Edition and the next in a drip. Well-paced delays keep a series feeling helpful rather than relentless, and they let each Broadcast land when it is most likely to be read.

Before you begin​

  • A drip automation that already contains at least two Editions in sequence.
  • Editing access to the automation and the Folder that holds its Editions.
  • A sense of the overall cadence you want (for example, one message every few days).
  • Your account time zone confirmed, so scheduled sends fire when you expect. (confirm the exact steps in your account)

Steps​

  1. Open the drip automation you want to adjust and switch to its flow or sequence view.
  2. Select the connection or step between two Editions where you want subscribers to pause.
  3. Add a wait (delay) step and choose a duration — for example, wait 2 days, or wait until a specific weekday or time of day.
  4. Repeat for each gap in the series so every transition has an intentional delay rather than sending back-to-back.
  5. If your platform supports it, set send-window rules (such as business hours only) so no Broadcast goes out overnight. (confirm the exact steps in your account)
  6. Save the automation and, if required, re-activate or publish it so the new timing takes effect.

Result​

Each subscriber now moves through the drip at the pace you defined, receiving the next Edition only after its wait step elapses. You can confirm the cadence in the automation's flow view and by checking send timestamps in reporting once subscribers begin flowing through.
