Choose who receives a drip

The audience determines which subscribers enter your drip campaign and start receiving its sequence of Editions. Choosing the right audience keeps your drip relevant and protects your sending reputation.

Before you begin

  • Confirm the drip campaign you want to edit is open in the automation area of your account.
  • Have your target audience ready — a saved subscriber list, a segment, or the filter criteria that define who should qualify.
  • Make sure subscribers have valid, opted-in addresses so the drip does not stall on undeliverable or suppressed contacts.
  • If you want a signup form or landing page to feed the drip, set that up first so new subscribers flow in automatically.

Steps

  1. Open the drip campaign and go to its audience (recipients) settings. (confirm the exact steps in your account)
  2. Choose how subscribers qualify: select a saved list, build a segment from subscriber attributes, or point the drip at a signup form or landing page.
  3. Refine with filters if needed — for example, limit entry by tag, region, or a personalization field — so only the intended subscribers enter.
  4. Decide how ongoing entry works: allow new subscribers to join continuously as they match, or run against a fixed one-time snapshot of the list.
  5. Review the estimated audience size, then save your changes.

Result

The drip now targets the subscribers you selected. Qualifying subscribers begin the sequence at the first Edition, and — if continuous entry is on — new matching subscribers are added over time. Watch the drip's reporting to confirm subscribers are entering and progressing as expected.
