Submit a Broadcast for Approval

Send a scheduled Broadcast into the approval workflow so a reviewer signs off before it goes out.

Approval workflow adds a sign-off gate between building an Edition and sending it. Once you submit, the Broadcast is locked for review: a designated reviewer checks the content and audience, then either approves it (allowing it to send at the scheduled time) or returns it to you with feedback.

Before you begin

  • Finish and proof your Edition — content, subject line, and personalization tokens should be final, because editing may be locked after submission.
  • Confirm the target subscriber audience and the send schedule (date and time).
  • Make sure an approval workflow is enabled for your account or Folder, and that at least one reviewer is assigned. (confirm the exact steps in your account)
  • Send yourself or your team a preview so reviewers know what to expect.

Steps

  1. Open the Edition you want to send from its Project Folder.
  2. Choose the option to send or schedule the Broadcast, then set the audience and the scheduled send time.
  3. Select the approval action (for example, Submit for Approval) instead of scheduling it directly. (confirm the exact label in your account)
  4. Add a note for the reviewer if a comment field is available — call out anything you want them to check.
  5. Confirm the submission. The Broadcast moves into a pending or "awaiting approval" state, and the assigned reviewer is notified.

Result

The Broadcast shows a pending-approval status and will not send until a reviewer approves it. When approved, it sends at the scheduled time; if returned, you'll receive the reviewer's feedback and can revise and resubmit. Track its status from the Folder or Broadcast list.
