Choose a Responsive Layout
A responsive layout reflows your Edition so it reads well on phones, tablets, and desktops without a separate mobile version. Choosing the right layout up front saves rework later, because content added to columns and sections will already know how to stack and resize.
Before you begin
- Know your primary audience: if most subscribers open on mobile, favor single-column or a layout that collapses cleanly to one column.
- Have your content ready: headline, body copy, images, and calls to action. Layouts are easier to pick once you know how much content you're placing.
- Start a new Edition (or open a draft) in the Folder where you organize this work (confirm the exact steps in your account).
Steps
- Create or open an Edition, then open the layout or template picker.
- Filter or browse for layouts marked as responsive (they adapt automatically to screen width).
- Preview a candidate layout in both desktop and mobile views to see how columns stack and how images scale.
- Choose a column structure that matches your content: single-column for newsletters and announcements, multi-column for feature grids or side-by-side promos.
- Apply the layout to your Edition, then add your content blocks into the layout's sections.
- Re-check the mobile preview after adding content, since text length and image size can affect stacking.
Result
Your Edition uses a layout that resizes and reflows across devices. Subscribers see a readable, correctly stacked version whether they open on a phone or a desktop, with no separate mobile design to maintain.
