Add an Animated GIF or Slideshow to an Edition

An animated GIF loops through several frames to create movement in the inbox — a mini slideshow that plays automatically, with no click required. It's a reliable way to show a product carousel, a countdown, or a before/after without relying on video, which many mail clients block.

Before you begin​

  • Gather the images (frames) you want to cycle through, ideally cropped to the same width and height so the animation doesn't jump.
  • Keep the frame count and file size modest. Large GIFs load slowly and can inflate the Edition's total weight; a handful of frames usually reads best.
  • Decide on a play order and how long each frame should hold on screen.
  • Have the Edition you want to add the animation to open for editing (confirm the exact steps in your account).

Steps​

  1. Open the Edition and place your cursor where the animation should appear, then add an image content block.
  2. Choose the option to build an animated GIF or slideshow from multiple images (confirm the exact label in your account), or upload a pre-made .gif file if you already have one.
  3. Add your frames in the order you want them to play, and set the per-frame duration (how long each image shows).
  4. Set the loop behavior — play once or loop continuously — and confirm the overall dimensions.
  5. Add descriptive alt text so subscribers on clients that don't animate still understand the content, and link the block to a destination URL if it should be clickable.
  6. Save the block and send yourself a test to preview how it renders.

Result​

The Edition displays a looping animation in clients that support it, and the first frame as a static fallback in those that don't. When you're ready, send it as a Broadcast.
