Add Device-Specific Images to an Edition

Device-specific images let you show one image to subscribers reading on a desktop or laptop and a different image to subscribers reading on a phone. Instead of forcing a wide banner to shrink on a small screen, you pair a desktop version with a mobile-optimized version, and each subscriber's email client picks the right one.

Before you begin

  • Have both images ready: a desktop version (wider, more detail) and a mobile version (narrower, larger text and tap targets).
  • Host or upload both images so each has a stable URL — typically your image library or asset area (confirm the exact location in your account).
  • Open the Edition you want to edit, and make sure you have edit access to it.
  • Know where the paired image should sit in the layout so you can place it in the right content block.

Steps

  1. Open the Edition and select the content block or image area where the image should appear.
  2. Insert or choose an image element, then look for the device-specific (desktop / mobile) option on that element (confirm the exact control in your account).
  3. Assign your desktop image as the default and your mobile image as the small-screen version.
  4. Add descriptive alt text to both images so the content stays accessible if images don't load.
  5. Save the Edition, then send a test to yourself and open it on both a desktop and a phone to confirm each device shows the correct image.

Result

The Edition displays the desktop image on larger screens and the mobile image on phones. When you send the Broadcast, each subscriber sees the version suited to their device automatically.
